Wine and Wisdom Quiz

Our Wine and Wisdom Quiz has been running for 12 years now, and has become one of the permanent fixtures in the village calendar. The format is a quiz of several rounds, including all the traditional topics, such as Geography, History, Arts & Literature, etc. In recent years, the Quizmaster has attempted to conduct a music round, with varying degrees of technological success!
We have teams of up to 8 people on a table, and answer papers at the end of each round are marked by the Quizmaster's team of helpers on the stage. Questions are worth 2 points if correctly answered, with 1 point available at the Quizmaster's discretion if the answer is 'half right'. Each team has a joker, which can be played before the round starts, and which doubles the points they are awarded for that round.
The ticket price includes a light supper, which is served during the interval. A licensed bar is also available, at which beer, wine and soft drinks can be purchased.
2007
The 2007 Quiz took place on 3rd February and we were very pleased to have a record attendance of 150 people. It was won by Sophia with a total of 105 points, closely followed by The Birthday Party on 102 points and Linda's Loonies on 99 points.
2006
The 2006 Wine and Wisdom Quiz took place on 4th February. It was a close-fought contest, with one of our regular teams, Linda’s Loonies, leading the field for most of the evening. However, they were pipped to the post in the last round by the Cameronistas, who scored a magnificent total of 101 points. We’re not sure whether the Cameronistas are a new team, or whether they are simply under new leadership, but many congratulations to them!
