Café René

Newick's very own René outside his café
in 2010
Café René is a French-style café which we have put
on several times over the years, serving coffee and continental breakfasts.
Its origins go back to 1994, when the Tour de
France passed through Newick. We baked several hundred croissants and served
innumerable cups of coffee to the crowds which came to our village during
that memorable day.
In recent years, we have run Café René for the
Gardens Open Day, a biennial event organised by Newick Village Society, and
all profits have gone towards the good causes supported on these occasions.
